jack has beat feet
December 18, 2003
My minor excuse for a life and obsessions, er, interests are being covered at NoMuse.
Hegira.org remains as a chunk of history and a hidey-hole from which I
can work on secret projects. Follow the turtle, quick like a bunny.
Why are you still here?
pimp portable amp
October 9, 2003
There have been cmoy's, a47's, modified linkwitz crossfeeds, meta42's and now the pimp portable ppa headphone amplifier.
The ppa features a modified linkwitz crossfeed, bass boost (still in
need of tuning), AD8610 op amps (socketed with Burr Brown opa627 and
opa634 in the listening queue), 12 buffers, a battery board housing
12AAA NiMH batteries and a recharge circuit, a toaster and the kitchen
first cmoy amp comes off the production line
June 12, 2003
I completed my first headphone amplifier based on the cmoy design with help and soldering direction from Number 6. It sounds good, and I'm looking forward to modifying this circuit before moving onto some others.
Update! 6/17/03 Marginally better pictures replace the previous pictures.
how many bags of cement for this pad?
April 21, 2003
Matt and I spent some quality Easter time mixing and pouring cement.
The question, it turns out, is whether the master engineer can actually

mr. president, we have sheetrock
February 17, 2003
What was that? Icecubes in hell? Maybe.
Number Six and I spent the president's holiday completing the gas line for the studio heater and applying much sheetrock to the ceiling of the studio. Insulation and sheetrock on the walls to follow -- eventually. No sense in getting carried away at this point.
mostly done low fire ceramics
February 3, 2003
Here is a set of follow-up shots
to the pictures I posted back in November. The pieces are mostly done,
poorly implemented and appear huge on screen. The little teapots are
based on about a 3" sphere and the wall pieces are about 8" and 14".

another flurry of construction
August 27, 2002
Yes, I know that I'm slow, but progress has been made.
I finished framing the seperation of the studio from the garage and
have completed the addition of approximately 300 square feet of above
the garage storage.
jack goes back to school
August 20, 2002
Need to know where jack is when? Yeah, I didn't think so -- unless you happen to be Natalie.
March 24, 2002
In an amazing lack of coordination and motor skills, I seem to have broken the two smallest toes on my left foot.
building out the studio
January 17, 2002
managed a round of serious construction designed to seperate the garage
from the 'studio'. I installed the southmost third of the wall and
storage decking. I took a couple of pictures which may describe what I'm doing better.

Jack has been attempting to sculpt people again. The last two weeks worth of mangling are available here.
